Re: Error with streaming movie, how do I tell what is going on?

Since the movie does not seem very long, why not just deliver it as a fast-start http?
Usually anything shorter than 10 min or so we deliver this way, it's less troublesome than true streaming.

I'm at home on wireless DSL (700 kbps) and video is frozen and audio breaks up.
OSX 10.4.11, QT Plug-in 7.4.1, but the same results when I save it and play using QT Player.

There may be something going on with your hint tracks also, I'd recommend trying to encode with h.264 video (or MPEG4 simple profile) and AAC audio, instead of Sorenson Video and Qualcomm PureVoice, unless you have a specific reason to use these older codecs.
Did not check the html code for playing back the movie..
If you are streaming, it's less problematic if you also enable streaming on Port 80, not sure you are doing this.

Subject: Error with streaming movie, how do I tell what is going on?

I'm not sure when this problem actually started, but it has only been reported in the last couple of days. The movie on this page:

 http://www.engineering.wright.edu/trebuchet/intro-video.shtml

seems to work with just about every client configuration I am able to try,
except version 7.4.1 of the plug-in under Windows. It *does*, however, work
using the QuickTime Player, version 7.4.1 under Windows, if I give the
Player the URL for the reference movie. When it fails using the plug-in, it
says "Waiting..." for 10 seconds, then for a few momemnts it says
"Switc...sports", and then it gives a 10061 error. The server log shows a
504 for the connection.

I have also had one report that the video doesn't work for a user who is on
a cable modem using a Mac with version 7.4.1 of the plugin, but in his case
it does "work", but he doesn't get video and the sound's bad, which makes me
think his problem is network-related.

I'm at a loss for what else I can try and where to look to figure out what's
going on, so any help is greatly appreciated.
