You should try doing some development some time then. Try, for
example, to check the "cvs" project out of darwin.org (or
opendarwin.org for that matter) on an HFS filesystem. Other examples
abound, like the /usr/bin/head vs /usr/bin/HEAD controversy.
This isn't just some made-up issue, it's quite real.
