Ok, up and runnning now - thanks!
To get around the MAXINT thing, I used
#ifdef APPLE #define MAXINT INT_MAX #endif
where necessary and added a -DAPPLE flag to my gcc command line.
Now I just need to replace the X with a Cocoa front end...
thanks to all.
Ahhh... MAXINT is undefined - thus limits.h???
Almost. MAXINT is non-standard, so you'll also want to change all occurrences of MAXINT to INT_MAX. The latter is defined in the C Standard via limits.h, and should work on all platforms.
