It is almost ALWAYS a VERY BAD IDEA to put arbitrary libraries in /usr/lib.

Yeah, /usr/lib was a typo - I meant /usr/local/lib.

But that response was just silly. You should try decaf. Seriously. If you get this wound up over library directories, you're a prime candidate for an early heart attack.
