You say that it is your app? Why don't you include a copy of GNU gettext's
libintl for those systems (like Mac OS X) which don't ship a compatible
libintl. I think you'll find that GNU gettext builds fine on darwin. The
source can be downloaded from ftp://ftp.gnu.org and its mirrors.
