If ever you see a Scsi-over-Whatever device that
treats unit attentions and resets bizarrely ... maybe
here below is part of why.

Informally, among certain circles of storage device
folk, the creative approach to Scsi host
implementation cited here is Famous.

Today is the first day myself I ever saw this link,
though I can easily imagine this link has worked for
some years, maybe decades.

The technote has been around forever, maybe even before I started on Macs. It was updated in 1987.


The way I hear it the Mac Plus predated the SCSI standard (both emerged in 1986, the Mac+ in January), so its not entirely surprising that there was some incompatibility. This problem explains many years of devices with a "Unit attention" jumper on them.
