iTunes device plug-in API?

This week I'm meeting a client to discuss MacOS driver support for one of their USB devices.

To prepare for that I was looking for the iTunes device API but couldn't find anything but the few references in iTunesAPI.h. I guess I'm looking for iTunesDeviceAPI.h and corresponding glue code. Does anyknow know where I can find info about the iTunes device API?

This client is planning to support another application, but as a Mac user I'd like to see iTunes support included -- I hope someone from Apple reads this and can tell me how to get this info, so I can try to convince them.

ps. I know this isn't strictly about USB driver development and apologize to all who mind. This is the best platform I could find though.
