The one other thing would be to look in the system.log file. If there is a problem with the driver being found, this would be reported in the log file. I had a very similar thing happen yesterday with regards to driver matching - which turned out to result from an extraneous character in the driver name.On Mar 18, 2005, at 9:14 AM, Rich Kubota wrote:

Then run USBProber logging with the status level set to 6. You will see in the log as to the probe scores resulting from matching available drivers. Maybe you are missing criteria, or have specified incorrect matching criteria.
My driver does have the highest score, but the HID driver is started anyway:
