Re: Setting Form Values

This is good! But I must risk proving myself to be even denser: Is there a direct way to manipulate form items given a WebFrame or is the proper thing to do by using javascript (with an 'r') ? The javascript trick is nice but it adds a layer of debugging and QA.

I know that for an upcoming project we might want to 'assist' users by offering to fill in some fields for them when they register for a service.

Thanks, Matt

Jumping in late on this. This topic has piqued my interest. How can I use stringByEvaluatingJavaSciptFromString to set form fields ? I hate to be such a newbie but if I have a WebView which I know has a single frame, and I have apriori knowledge of it, how can I work my javascript magic on it ?

You can use the same JavaScript methods that any webpage can use. For example, you can find an element using getElementById if it is labeled with an ID attribute. Pick up a book on JavaScript, and you can expect that most of what you find there will work.

I searched the developer docs for stringByEvaluatingJavaSciptFromString and came up empty.

I think you just left out the "r" in "Script". This search worked for me: <http://developer.apple.com/cgi-bin/search.pl?&q=stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString&num=10&ie=utf8&oe=utf8&lr=lang_en&simp=1>.
