Also, it seem to get more interesting that WebKit version is "124",
but if
you look at the Safari's About window it reports v125.1.
So where did that come from, who's telling the truth ???. ASP just
reports
1.2.
The Safari application and the WebKit framework have separate version
numbers. In the past, the version numbers were the same because they
were always updated and released at the same time. That's no longer
the case.
The version number in the Safari about box is for the application, not
the WebKit framework. Users, much like fish and water, aren't aware of
frameworks so we don't display the version number there. Developers of
web content and native code have other means of getting the WebKit
version number.
Because I run so many different versions of Safari and its frameworks,
I keep this handy bookmark around:
