Scrollbar not updating

Hi,

I'm using an HIWebView in an non-composited Carbon window (don't ask). So far, I have the thing under control with only a few glitches:

I don't see any updates of the view while it is loading, unless I move the mouse over the window.
When I scroll a web page by dragging the scrollbar with the mouse, the scrollbar doesn't redraw until I release the mouse. The view itself is redrawing correctly though, and the scrollbar redraws fine if I scroll with the mouse wheel instead.

I suppose I am probably just missing a few drawing events here, but I can't figure out which exactly they would be. Does anyone have an idea what could be missing here?
