webkit webPlugInStop method not called as expected

I've written a plug-in that when passed a data URL of a specific mime type it will execute an AppleScript with the passed URL arguments. The problem is after the data URL is clicked the plug-in just loops (in mach_msg_trap?). When a new URL is entered (changing the existing data URL) the webPlugInStop method is called. What I'd really like to happen is for Safari to not try and "render" the data URL and gracefully stop the plug-in. Just to be clear once the data URL is clicked: Safari should call webPlugInStart, mark the URL or click as handled so as to not change the address, and then call webPlugInStop. Thanks in advance.

Jeff
