Is it possible to instruct a WebKit based application to use a HTTP proxy?

A user may not want to set/alter the global HTTP proxy settings found
in System Preferences... but may still require the use of a proxy for
certain services/applications e.g. my webkit app.

Any info appreciated.  Thanks.
