I was working on the same issue and I've come up with a different patch that just overrides assembleSelectStatementWithAttributes.
I don't know which one is to be preferred, though... So here it is:


Nice work, Giorgio. I have a question or two, though. I don't know how important it is but does your solution preserve the order of the join statements? The other one is that I had a dickens of a time making sure that a table only appeared once in the join clause other pgSQL complained. How does your solution handle that?

All things being equal, I think your solution, being much shorter and easier to understand, should be the preferred one.

The code that figures out table names from the relationship name should be preserved for future generations, though. :-)
