Re: Cocoa java and EOF

I can understand how you feel. We must keep in mind though that Cliff probably has no option but to represent the decisions of his employer - no matter what he personally thinks.

And then perhaps this is a case of Apple keeping everyone in the dark because they have knowledge of something even better currently under development, but can't share that knowledge with us, and don't want to lead us down a path that they know will shortly terminate.

I think I have said it on this list before, but I don't believe Apple is run by a bunch of amateurs who have no grasp of what people want. Perhaps it is determined by financing constraints. Perhaps by greater wisdom than we hold. Whatever the case, as frustrating as it is, I think we need to accept that Apple is doing what is best for their long term survival and Cliff is only representing that.

I intend to keep playing around with Cocoa/EOF to learn more. And I too, will probably seek help on this list. In the meantime, let's cross our fingers that Apple really do have a world beater up their sleeves being prepared for release :)

r.

Exactly. And if one is only using it in one's own shop, what's the diff,
really? I understand that there are issues in licensing it to other

database connectivity is for business users.
