On the X11 Edit menu, while in xterm, the Copy shortcut is black and is shown as command-c and appears to function until you try to paste and nothing happens. Paste (command-v) and other edit commands are grayed out on the X11 Edit menu. Control-click in xterm gets me a menu, but paste is not one of the options. In rxvt, control-click gets me nothing. I guess I need to change my question. Why are the command- functions grayed out on my Edit menu in X11? Do I need to set this with a resource file somewhere? Shouldn't this work "out of the box," at least with xterm? Thanks for any help.
