xorg-server-1.4-apple status

The xorg-server-1.4-apple branch now compiles and runs in a fairly stable manner. So far, I have not noticed any more crashes than I had with 1.3a1 (which was few). I'm not going to release a binary yet because this also requires the installation of a new library. I want to wait until we get a centralized distribution site setup for this...

I haven't tested master, but it compiles.

On a side note... interesting crashes...

If dix-config.h is included in darwin.h, interesting things happen... With 1.2, we get a crash on startup, and with 1.4, we get a crash with the first keyboard event. I'm not sure why this is, so I've commented out the include for now. I added it to get SHAPE defined for X11Application.m. I'm thinking this crash might be because some source file ISN'T including dix-config.h (1.4) or xorg-config.h (1.2) where it should be. I'll be auditing this a bit later.

differences between branches (modulo xorg-server wide/API changes):
1.2 -> 1.4:
new darwinEvents.c/X11Application.m (has locked modifier key problems still)
lacking my recent keymod patches to 1.2 (I'm thinking of reverting them since it really duplicates what can be done already with ~/.Xmodmap unless there is a strong cry for wanting this functionality within)

1.4 -> master:
	no glx support (configure with --disable-glx)
	apple/bundle-main.c differences (XCB)
