I find option-click to be much more reliable for this purpose. With certain
mouse drivers (e.g. my Wacom tablet), actually doing a middle click may
put the X server into an unusable state.
(I can't reproduce it right now. I probably did something to make sure this
doesn't happen. Or maybe it's fixed in Tiger. I'm not sure.)
