even if X11.app is already running? (and without the explicit osascript activate?) That seems like a bug to me rather than a feature. Applications should not steal focus from others (which is what is happening here) unless directed to do so by a user... in this case, it's desired, but I can see it possibly being abused...

You mean that if X11.app was running in Tiger and a new X client connected, X11.app was brought to the front? I think we could easily add that as an option, but I'm not sure I like it as default... hmm...
