Re: xinitrc problem

Could you post your xinitrc file?

Also, I don't believe that X11 pulls in your path information from
your startup scripts (.bashrc, etc.), so it may not have the path for
all of the WindowMaker stuff. You may need to add that before the
"exec wmaker" line.

Hi all, you will have to forgive the stupidity from here on in as I
am new to x11. O.k so I installed x11 and initially it ran fine. Then
I decided to change the window manager to window maker using fink.
All seemed to go well until i changed the xinitrc file and now x11
wont start properly it just flicks on and off again and outputs the
following into the console.

XFree86 Version 4.4.0 / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600) _XSERVTransmkdir: Owner of /tmp/.X11-unix should be set to root [DRI] screen 0 installation complete Screen 0 added: 1680x1050 @ (0,0) Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/CID/, removing from list! /Users/daverobinson1uk/.xinitrc: line 1: {rtf1macansicpg10000cocoartf824cocoasubrtf410: command not found /Users/daverobinson1uk/.xinitrc: line 2: syntax error near unexpected token `}' /Users/daverobinson1uk/.xinitrc: line 2: `{\fonttbl\f0\fswiss \fcharset77 Helvetica;}' Quitting XDarwin...

Any help with this would be very gratefully appreciated.
