Just open a Terminal.app window and type the command

  wmaker.inst

at the prompt. If your Fink and the windowmaker package are installed correctly, the script will run and do some configuring and then it will tell you the following:

Type the name of the file that must be changed (normally .xinitrc).
If the file already exists, it will be backed up with a .old.Feb18.21:21:35 extension
If you want to edit it by hand, hit <Control>-C now.


There you type

  .xinitrc

and you will get a good ~/.xinitrc file.
