It certainly did not respond "OK". But let's assume it said something that you abbreviated as "OK".


Then this means that /sw/bin is on your command search path, and typing "wmaker.inst" should not give a "Command not found" error. If it still does, then please show the output of

  printenv PATH
  type -a wmaker.inst

both typed in a Terminal.app window.
