It may be deeper than that--cursors show up yellow even when running Windows through Boot Camp. Something about the video hardware may be just different than what X and Windows expect.

I remember there was a discussion about this almost a year ago on this list, although that was before I had an Intel Mac. It seems there is a byte-swap problem somewhere in the Apple X11 server. Perhaps the only workaround is to switch to black window backgrounds with white text.
