According to my experience, what you want to do is, unfortunately, impossible.

I also tried to do this some months ago without any success. When 3-button
mouse emulation is enabled, Apple's X server will eat up other modifier keys,
so it is impossible to do Alt + Middle/Right click (extremely
important in certain
programs).

This is a (IMHO very serious) deficiency in Apple's X server. There is nothing
we can do about it.


(Getting a real 3-button mouse would work, but if it's a tablet or some special mouse that requires a driver, and the driver has bugs, pressing the additional buttons could hang the X server too... :-( ... IMHO it is kind of bizzare that a factory-shipped X server can't produce all the keystrokes necessary to control the program "xterm"...) -- cheers, -ambrose _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
