I just installed IRAF on a new MacPro. The computer has a 23" Cinema
Display and the standard graphics card. IRAF requires 256 color
mode to
function properly. When I set X11 to 256 color mode the fonts in
Xterm
windows are garbled and unreadable. If I switch back to "From
Display" the
fonts are readable. Ant ideas what the problem might be and if it is
fixable?
I am assuming that you are using the ximtool (or is there another 256
color
dependency in IRAF). I have been using IRAF and DS9 for several years
and have been using the standard millions of colors the whole time
without
problem.
