Re: summary of steps to get X11 working

Instructions are at http://www.x.org/wiki/XDarwin

Binary installation

Note: Before doing this for the first time, make a backup copy of the "real" /usr/X11/bin/Xquartz binary in case something breaks.

bunzip2 Xquartz-1.2a7.bz2
sudo install -b Xquartz-1.2a7 /usr/X11/bin/Xquartz

As for VPython and Xephem, I don't use them, so you're on your own there.

Good afternoon all.

I'm told that both Xephem and VPython build and behave properly when installed with Fink under Leopard, so I'm ready to upgrade this weekend. Can someone summarize the steps necessary to get X11 working, complete with the recent fixes? It is as simple as installing X11 and X11SDK when I install Leopard and then just dropping in the latest fix from the X.org wiki?

Like others here, I greatly appreciate Ben's work on all this!
