I think that history provides overwhelming evidence that different
people think about the Reply button in different ways. (I'm with
Nathan, for the record.) Yet for some reason, a single person, the
list administrator, has to make the choice of reply semantics for
everybody on the list. The way this *should* work is that each person
should be able to set things up the way they prefer, either by using a
per-user list software setting or a mail client setting.
Until then, I say "Reply-To munging considered fabulous!"
