now changed, thx.

done.

For one, because I've found no other documentation.

The docs I *did* find

  http://etbe.coker.com.au/2007/01/07/xephyr/
  http://lists.luv.asn.au/wws/arc/luv-main/2007-01/msg00050.html

indicated the approach I've taken.

The developer docs @ apple

  http://developer.apple.com/cgi-bin/search.pl?q=Xephyr&num=10&site=default_collection

have nothing re: xephyr

Are there some docs that you can point to that clarify what to do and
what not to reinvent?

That works fine on the Mac, with a local Xephyr instance, running the
X-apps on the same box.

How, exactly, is your approach used to connect me to a remote box,
ensuring proper authentication etc?

My goal is NOT to run KDE etc on the Mac, but rather to access the KDE
session/GUI running on the Linux box in a X-window on the Mac.
