Thank you for your responses to my problem however I am still having
trouble. Essentially when I try to load up X11 after about 20 seconds
it just quits, if i try to open a terminal before that it quits then.
I tried re-booting but that didn't work and i then tried to re-
install it from the website download but i got a message saying i
already had the latest version so i deleted all the relevant files i
could find (including the receipts), but the download file gave me
the same error. I then successfully re-installed from the Mac OS
install cd but I am now getting the original problem again. I am
running OS 10.4.11 and X11 I am using is X11 1.1 - XFree86 4.4.0. I
have had a look in the log file (although I wasn't 100\% sure it was
the right file, I looked at /var/log/windowserver.log as I couldn't
find anything better) and it keeps giving me the following error:
Aug 06 11:46:51 [82] kCGErrorIllegalArgument:
CGXGetScreenRectForWindow: Invalid window 424
although the last number often changes. does anyone have any ideas?
