I still haven't heard back from many of you with respect to this issue and 2.3.1_beta1.  

Please give it a try and report the debugging information that is spewed out to the system log.  Additionally, what keyboard layout do you have selected in the internationalization menu?  Is it an Apple-provided layout or a 3rd party layout?  If it's 3rd party, then please report this to whoever provided the layout to you.

When I lauch X11 (however I do) it tends to die and automatically respawn. The previous version did not exibit such problem ever. I addition xterm does sometime hang (again, a 2.3.0 problem). If anyone wants them I'll send the Console logs.

These problems are on a MacBookPro, GB keyboard and no extra harware attached.
