I still haven't heard back from many of you with respect to this issue and 2.3.1_beta1.

Where could I download it? can I be clued up?

I mentioned it in the bug report and in the earlier email. All packages (betas, rcs, finals, etc) can be downloaded at http://xquartz.macosforge.org

Please give it a try and report the debugging information that is spewed out to the system log. Additionally, what keyboard layout do you have selected in the internationalization menu? Is it an Apple-provided layout or a 3rd party layout? If it's 3rd party, then please report this to whoever provided the layout to you.

Please answer this question.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Any KCHR can be converted to an XML-style keyboard layout using the tools here:

http://developer.apple.com/textfonts/download/

The tool isn't listed on the download page, but it's included in the install. It's called klkchrtoxml.

We strongly recommend that people using third-party keyboard layouts that are not already in XML format convert them.
