Re: X11/Wine moving dialog issue

Hmm I didn't need to pay. You just need to sign up with your Apple ID.

Please see http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/ticket/130 and report this at http://bugreport.apple.com as well. I'd really like to get this fixed, but as I mentioned in the previous email, we're pretty much blocked on bugs in upstream (in this case meaning frameworks developed by other teams at Apple).

Please let me know the radar number, so I can mark it as a duplicate and count your "vote"

Reporting bugs on Apple's bugreporter requires an ADC membership. Charging money to report bugs in their products seems pretty hairbrained to me, and is not an option for me, I'm afraid, as I'm not a developer, cashed-up or otherwise.

I'm experimenting with Darwine and XQuartz 2.2.3 on MacOSX10.5.4
There is a recurring display issue I believe is X11-related rather than Wine-related; some programs/installers have dialog windows that shift downward by about the height of the top Mac menu every time it is updated, eg a progress bar on an installer. For some programs it is gradual enough that you can shift it up to prevent it going offscreen, but attempting to run Poser Figure Artist is impossible because the registration dialogs after otherwise successfully installing are shifted downwards so fast offscreen that it is not possible to input the registration information.
Looking at the Wine buglist, I do not see a mention of this:
http://bugs.winehq.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=OSX
I'm not sure which bugzilla to use for X11, if there is one for XQuartz.
Is this a known issue, considering how obvious it is, and if so, where should it be reported?

Another unrelated issue I have seen mention of in winedb is dialog boxes appearing behind background meant to cover the whole screen during an installation issue. Both on Linux and on OSX Leopard using Spaces, the background can be shifted to another space/ window so you can get at the dialog underneath. I haven't searched for a bug report for this. I imagine this is Wine and not X11?

Thanks,
Martin
