Re: Man page discrepancy for quartz-wm

Post 10.5.2 The change was made;  Feb. 2008 (Version 2.1.4) to org.x.x11. The latest build/history is at http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/   If you update directly from 10.5.0 to 10.5.2 (or 10.5.4) the info is correct on the web page.   http://static.macosforge.org/xquartz/downloads/X11-2.3.1_rc3.pkg  is the latest version and uses org.x.x11 after any security/system updates you need to reinstall x11 from macosforge.org. Apple should be including Jeremy's work in the system updates.

I need to document for our users how to set the click-through and focus-follows-mouse policies on Mac, and have noticed a discrepancy between the bundled man page and the web version of the quartz-wm man page.  The web version of the quartz-wm man page mentions the org.x.x11 domain, but the man page bundled with Leopard (10.5.2) references com.apple.x11.  I’ve determined that org.x.x11 does *not* work, i.e. you can’t set wm_click_through and wm_ffm by following the directions on the web page.  Is this a known documentation bug?

"man -w" identifies the location of the man page thusly:

% man -w quartz-wm
/usr/share/man/man1/quartz-wm.1
% ls -l /usr/share/man/man1/quartz-wm.1
-r--r--r--  1 root  wheel  3266 Sep 23  2007 /usr/share/man/man1/quartz-wm.1

The web page is at:

http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/man1/quartz-wm.1.html
