Yeah, this is a bug in the WindowServer... mostly... X11 isn't doing "the right thing" either, so you could argue that we are part of the problem, but when we do it "the right way", things break even worse... so we're waiting on upstream fixes.  Sorry I don't have any more details than that.

*PLEASE* file a radar on this issue (http://bugreport.apple.com) and let me know the number.  The more duplicates that are reported, the more pressure we can place to show that it's having an impact on users.
