No, Spaces thinks that any one application should have windows in only one space --- so whichever space you first started the app in, it will take you back to when you click on the dock icon. This would be reasonable if I'd assigned the app to just one space, but I haven't.

Open TextEdit. Create two windows. Move one to space 2, the other to space 1. Select space 3. click on TextEdit on the dock, click on it again.


You'll see that you keep toggling between spaces that TextEdit exists in.
