I just installed 10.5.2 on my ibook 1.3mhz with 1.25gb ram fresh
and have done a few things like my browser and thunderbird. I want
to get started with useing the UNIX part of this maching.. I
understand there was some kind of procedure to set up the su for
some reason with - to get more commands.... Am I on the right list?
I have been on it for awhile and wanted to get current to be able to
ask questions

This is the list for using X11 to run GUI applications that are
compiled to use it with your mac. An example of this could be pidgin,
or any other GTK app that you can compile (with fink or macports, etc).
If you want to use the unix commands on your mac all you have to do is
open up Terminal and point your web browser to your favorite search
engine to look up some help. I suggest the first command you enter in
your new terminal should be "man man". That is the manual page for the
man command, which will be your new best friend in your terminal
explorations. I strongly discourage you to do anything with su until
you know more about what you're doing.
