This is the list for using X11 to run GUI applications that are compiled to use it with your mac. An example of this could be pidgin, or any other GTK app that you can compile (with fink or macports, etc).


If you want to use the unix commands on your mac all you have to do is open up Terminal and point your web browser to your favorite search engine to look up some help. I suggest the first command you enter in your new terminal should be "man man". That is the manual page for the man command, which will be your new best friend in your terminal explorations. I strongly discourage you to do anything with su until you know more about what you're doing.
