They've added an option to not do the auto-swoosh if you cmd-tab to a application or click once on its Dock icon. A double click on the dock icon initiates a "swoosh". Its a really nice, sensible implementation of autoswitching IMHO, which will be even better when X11 works with it!

Is it just that they fixed the accidentally switching spaces issue, when there was an app in the current space, or have they decided to default to a form of no-swoosh?
