Given that that Steve Jobs left us with yesterday that xcode is our
only option for Mac OS development into the future,
I neither attend WWDC nor did I listen the complete keynote movie,
but that's a obviously wrong impression.
Perhaps Xcode is the only IDE directly supporting linking FAT
binaries at the moment but that doesn't stop you from doing it
elsewhere. Hook up your CodeWarrior to compile x86 as well as ppc
binaries against the appropriate SDK and trigger linkage at the
command line. I didn't test it, but I can't see anything stopping you
from doing so, either.
Additionally, Java, perl, bash, AppleScript and all this other stuff
will continue to work as before.
