Xcode is running my app differently from within itself

If I press the "Run" button from within Xcode for my app, my app gets run differently, than had I opened it in the Finder.

Specifically, I am seeing a bug in my app when being opened in the Finder, that I do not see when opened in Xcode.

This is doubly frustrating, because I cannot debug it, because when I do debug it, the bug goes away. This is a true stealth bug. :o)

Obviously Xcode is running my app differently. Can someone tell me what Xcode is doing differerently than how the app is normally run? Maybe with a good clue I can figure out how this bug is occuring.

Also, is there anything I can do to make sure my app executes exactly instruction for instruction the same, whether run from within Xcode or from the Finder? (Barring silly stuff like random/time based code.)
