Re: Using XCode and en.lproj vs. English.lproj

Thanks, Frédéric, or should I say "merci" instead? ;)

We still want to support Mac OS X 10.2, though, so we need to make sure that changing English.lproj to en.lproj will not break our app. Anyway, we have to test it on this OS and see how everything goes. If it does, we will include both.

Hello people

Hi João!

(…) I am moving all my projects from CW to xcode.

I wish you success in this (potentially huge) process; however, it
seems to be quite necessary to do so this days…

I (…) have tried many times to start using XCode / Project
Builder but before XCode 2.x I would always come back to CW (…).
XCode has come a long way and I can say I am really enjoying
XCode 2.1.

Glad to hear such a good news. Welcome aboard ;) !

3) If I start using the new locale designators, will this break my
bundle in earlier versions of Mac OS X such as Jaguar and Panther?

Just wanted to bring some elements to this unanswered question: since
Apple's documentation advised us to *prefer* ISO-based designators, we
were using them *from the start* in the little project I'm
collaborating to (URL: http://dvdmanager.free.fr/).

Our app appeared on Jaguar, we've added about a dozen ISO-designated
localizations to our bundle, and it gained support for Panther when
available. FYI, it's today targetted to both Panther & Tiger (we've
removed our support to Jaguar…), and we're still using the same
ISO-designated localizations.

So don't worry about this and just follow Apple's recommendations. Always ;) !

Bye,
