Re: Why don't distributed builds work between Intel/PPC machines?



The precompiled headers that gcc currently generates are akin to a memory dump from the compiler so they are very sensitive to the version of the compiler used and what architecture/system the PCH is generated on.

We are well aware of the limitations this imposes on distributed builds and are interested in enabling cross-architecture distributed builds in a future version.
