Has anyone found a solution to this short of re-creating my
project file?
If you continue past this error, close the file, and open it
again, it should be fine.
Is it worth filing a bug report?

Because, it's not perfectly fine as you obtain a blank empty
application icon at the top of the file lists, which you need to
delete.
