Hi,

It's not a host problem, because the behaviour is similar no matter
which host is used. I filed a bug report last week, so let's see.
It's not a big deal though, but a bit confusing until one knows how
to work around the problem. Perhaps it's not a tools problem either.
It seems to be a problem with the debug libraries, which are loosely
related to the tools.

Organizationally, the Tools group has no responsibility for the _debug versions of the libraries. What asserts or other debugging capabilities go in a given framework's _debug library is totally decided by the framework owners. So if there are problems with the _debug version of a framework, the bug should go to the framework owner...
