I have managed to install gcc-3.3 now, thanks for the hint Olivier!
Next problem... Build cannot find any of the C library header files, stdio.h etc...
I even opened the example C Tool project, with the “Hello world” main() in it, and that won’t build.
What am I doing wrong? The basic C library is not being found for some reason.
I looked in my working project on my G5 (Xcode 1.2, OSX 10.3), and it looks the same, but obviously it isn’t!
Is it a Framework/Library issue? Have I left something out in the install?

It sounds like you haven't installed the Mac OS SDK (the headers and libraries for /usr/include, etc.)  You should probably trun the UninstallDevTools.pl script in /Developer/Tools, then reinstall developer tools from your Xcode disk.
