It's not an outright crash, but an uncaught exception is basically just as bad.


I can't see how this is not a bug. How do I get a backtrace of that?

If it's not already logged to the console (See: /Applications/ Utilities/Console.app), I suggest that you do what you would have done if this were your own application - Attach to it with GDB and set a breakpoint in -[NSException raise]. You can find information on how to do this in the list archives, for example:
