This post is to register the completed analysis and solution, to help
the next victim. Apple really dropped a ball on this one; I'm sure
lots
of programmers are regretting it already.
Apple provides for and documents how to do cross development. What
you lists is what Apple has documented when trying to cover 10.2.8
and later.
I fail to see how Apple dropped the ball on anything....
