PackageMaker 3.0.1 question

Hopefully not a stupid question here.....

The new packagemaker that shipped with leapard, I just wanted to try and
make a package of Office 2008 and custom prefs I have set in the
/System/Library/User Template

If I open PackageMaker up and simply drag the Microsoft Office 2008 folder
over to the contents pane in Packagemaker and do the same the User Template
Preferences folder and click Build it crashes PackageMaker every time
without warning.

Why is this? How are you supposed to make a package of applications that
throw stuff all over? If I drag the applications over themselves instead of
the whole office folder and put in the package the package will build
correctly.

Can anyone clear this issue up for me?

PackageMaker that shipped with 10.4 seemed to be a lot easier to use, I
always just setup a dummy file structure. Like had a folder on the desktop
named Package under that a folder named Root under that another folder named
Applications and then I would copy the Office Folder to that one and create
the package and be done.

Thanks,

Dan
