unicode and nodes

Hi all,

I have been trying to use the CLI to retrieve info about the nodes using

xgrid -node list

then

xgrid -node status|info -id "Somebody's Computer"

but it does not work with unicode characters. For instance, with a curly quote like in "Somebody's Computer", I get in the node list "Somebody\U2019s Computer". But if I try to use that to retrieve status|info, I get {error = InvalidNodeIdentifier; }. Half of the agents have a curly quote in their name (default from apple). Unfortunately, I cannot change the names of the computer agents because most are not mine.

I don't know enough about unicode support in the shell to deal with that. Can somebody explain me how to use unicode in the shell or if there is a workaround?

I also noticed that the command 'xgrid -node status|info' often hangs, like James Reynolds described for the submit command. If I can get the Unicode thing cleared, I could try to fix that.

thanks very much,
