x grid question

hello list,
My name's mike, I'm a new user here. I just read in mac addict about xgrid and it caught my attention pretty fast... so of course I downloaded and set up. I do however have one question,... is this software only good for splitting the load of pre-designated tasks? or can it be used to delegate workloads from other programs? like say I was editing hours of video in Final Cut Pro, or another power hungry program,,,, does this program have any applications for this? I appologize in advance if this is a silly question, but like I said, I'm fairly inexperienced with the material. thanks for any help you can give. -Mike
