It's basically just using the relevant API, so in that sense it could be just an "extension", but you need to be able to bundle up the data and the relevant executables and submit them as a discrete job, so that's probably more effort, depending on the way your software's built.


I'm not speaking from experience, mind you, just on the basis of the Xgrid talks at the WWDC.


Where would we find a list of those programs that are Xgrid-aware?

So, for example, say I'm writing graphics application "A", can I add a preference to "use x-grid if available"? If the app, via Rendezvous, finds x-grid, it uses it, otherwise no harm done?
